Mr Ahsan Akhtar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. He completed his Medical Degree at the University of Manchester in 2007.
Subsequently, Mr Akhtar underwent rigorous Specialist Registrar training in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the prestigious North West Thames (Imperial) Rotation. He later completed specialist fellowships in upper limb surgery, initially at Imperial College Hospital then at the Internationally renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit. Following this, he was a Shoulder & Elbow Fellow at Royal Berkshire Hospitals, further honing his skills and knowledge in this specialised area of Orthopaedic surgery.
Overseas, Mr Akhtar also undertook visiting fellowships to Antwerp, Belgium (hand/wrist/elbow) and Nice, France (shoulder) to learn from leading hand and upper limb specialists. Mr Akhtar is passionate about teaching and regularly supervises his trainees, as well as teaching Medical Students from Imperial College School of Medicine.
Communication is of paramount importance to Mr Akhtar, and as such he thrives on demonstrating effective communication skills with colleagues and patients alike on a daily basis and can perform very well in a team environment. Throughout his career his multi-source feedbacks have complemented him on his calm demeanour, the support he offers juniors, his leadership and communication skills and the strong ethos he places on teamwork.
With his comprehensive training and extensive experience, Mr Akhtar is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients.
