About

Mr Rob Pollock is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at The Princess Grace Hospital and is Chair of the HCA UK Sarcoma Board. He was elected president of the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society in June 2023. Mr Pollock specialises in hip and knee disorders and all bone and soft tissue tumours. He has vast experience in first-time and revision hip and knee replacements, as well as limb salvage surgery for musculoskeletal tumours.

Mr Pollock has been a consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) since 2004 and was the Clinical Director of the Joint Reconstruction and Sarcoma Units there from 2017 to 2021. His private practice is at Princess Grace and Wellington Hospitals. He has been recognised for his work with the NHS and has received seven clinical excellence awards during his career.

After graduating with honours from University College London in 1993, Mr Pollock pursued orthopaedic training at a number of hospitals in London. He went on to complete fellowships in Australia and the USA where he further trained in hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, and bone tumour care. He later earned the renowned American, British, and Canadian (ABC) Fellowship awarded by the British Orthopaedic Association and spent six weeks at top orthopaedic clinics in North America, gaining invaluable knowledge.

Mr Pollock is active in research and has written over 100 articles on joint reconstruction and bone cancer and frequently presents at national and international conferences. He also teaches on a number of postgraduate courses at the RNOH.

In his free time, Mr Pollock enjoys cycling, jogging, and walking his dog in the Chilterns with his young family. He often competes in triathlons and completed Ironman in 2016.
