Training and credentials  • Graduated in Medicine in 2004 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees plus an honorary neuroscience degree from University College London. • Completed three years of general medical and surgical resident training before entering specialist ophthalmic training.   • Undertook higher ophthalmic training on the prestigious  Moorfields and North London rotation, including Moorfields, Royal London, Queen Square and Royal Free Hospitals.   • Completed a further three years of subspecialty fellowship and locum consultant training in glaucoma and emergency eye care at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Moorfields Bedford.   • Became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2014, reflecting dual general medical and ophthalmic Royal collage post graduater accreditation.     Clinical expertise in glaucoma and cataract  • Manages primary and complex secondary glaucomas, including patients who have had previous eye surgery or difficult-to-control eye pressure.   • Performs cataract surgery with particular expertise in patients who also have glaucoma, where planning and pressure control are especially important. • Experienced in traditional glaucoma procedures such as SLT laser, Iridotomy, trabeculectomy and Glaucoma drainage devices (Bareveldt Ahmed ClearPath and Paul tube surgeries) which remain gold-standard options for appropriate patients.     Advanced surgical techniques and innovation​  • An early adopter of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), Mr Kinsella offers advanced options such as iStent, OMNI and Elios laser, designed to lower eye pressure using small, tissue‑sparing procedures that support quicker recovery and a safer risk profile for suitable patients.​  • He also provides the latest implant technologies, including Preserflo MicroShunt and PAUL tube implants, for patients who need more powerful and sustained pressure reduction using modern, precision‑engineered devices.​  • In 2016, Mr Kinsella introduced Baerveldt tube surgery to Buckinghamshire, transforming local advanced glaucoma care by offering complex tube surgery at Stoke Mandeville and reducing the need for patients to be referred out of the county to London for this type of specialist treatment.      Care at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Visio Health  • Delivers specialist care within a dedicated ophthalmology service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and at a modern private eye clinic, Visio Health, providing tailored glaucoma and cataract clinics in both settings. • These services are supported by state‑of‑the‑art imaging and diagnostic technology, enabling precise assessment, personalised treatment planning and high‑quality surgical outcomes. • At Stoke Mandeville and Visio Health both private and NHS (in stoke Mandeville)  glaucoma and cataract surgery, including MIGS and tube implants, are available on site in purpose‑built ophthalmic facilities.
