About Mr David Elson
Dr. Elson is a consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in complex knee surgery, particularly for younger patients. He qualified in 2000 from Edinburgh University medical school before completing his surgical training in Edinburgh, Manchester and Newcastle, with fellowship training in Cardiff and Hampshire. Dr. Elson's clinical practice focuses on knee surgery and general trauma presentations. He has extensive experience in providing creative alternative solutions to younger adults with knee problems who prefer not to opt for joint replacements. To do this he utilises the best contemporary surgical strategies to correct malalignment, ligament injuries, cartilage and meniscal deficiencies and other preservative measures. His specialty and experience make him excellent educator and he regularly speaks at national and international conferences. He is the chairman of the United Kingdom Knee Osteotomy Registry which is dedicated to improving outcomes for knee osteotomy patients.
