About Mr Mohammad Ahmad
Mr Mohammad Ahmad is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool and Co-Lead of St Paul’s Laser Vision. He specialises in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery, offering advanced procedures including laser vision correction, refractive lens exchange, implantable contact lenses (ICL) and corneal transplantation. He has extensive experience managing complex anterior segment conditions such as keratoconus, irregular corneas, corneal dystrophies and ocular surface disease. He performs high-volume cataract surgery with a strong focus on premium intraocular lens technology and refractive precision. He has a particular interest in achieving spectacle independence through careful lens selection and personalised surgical planning, tailoring treatment to each patient’s lifestyle and visual goals. Patients value Mr Ahmad for his clear communication, meticulous surgical technique and calm, patient-centred approach. He takes time to ensure each individual understands their options and feels confident in their treatment plan. Mr Ahmad graduated with distinction from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ School of Medicine, achieving multiple prizes including a scholarship for ranking in the top 1% of his year. He completed specialist ophthalmology training in Yorkshire and the West Midlands and undertook advanced fellowships in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery at University Hospitals Birmingham and St Paul’s Eye Unit. He has also undertaken an advanced refractive observership training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in research and postgraduate teaching. He is a Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology at King Edward Medical University, Lahore, and holds an Honorary Clinical Lectureship at the University of Liverpool. Mr Ahmad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is on the GMC Specialist Register in Ophthalmology.
