He also completed a fellowship in adult cardiac surgery in Canada, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the French College of Thoracic and Cardio-vascular Surgery.
His clinical practice is focused on complex adult cardiac procedures. Dr Alkhamees has a particular interest in advanced surgical techniques, including coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve repair and replacement, and aortic aneurysm repair. He is also highly proficient in the management of advanced heart failure, utilising mechanical circulatory support systems such as VAD and ECMO, as well as heart transplantation.
