Dr. Jayakeerthi provides advanced care for a wide range of cardiac conditions, with expertise in complex coronary interventions using intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, fractional flow reserve, atherectomy and intravascular lithotripsy. He performs electrophysiologic procedures including atrial fibrillation ablation, ventricular tachycardia ablation, cryoballoon ablation, pulsed field ablation, and electrophysiologic studies. His practice also includes device implantation and management, covering pacemakers, defibrillators, heart failure devices, Micra leadless pacemakers, subcutaneous and extravascular defibrillators, and pacemaker lead extraction. He is experienced in cardiac biopsy for cardiomyopathy evaluation and transplant follow-up, renal denervation, and inferior vena cava filter placement and retrieval.
He earned his MBBS and MD in General Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and completed a DM in Cardiology at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He holds a postgraduate qualification in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing from UZ Brussels, Belgium, and completed a postgraduate course in heart failure at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He also undertook a transplant and assist device observership at the German Heart Institute in Berlin. He is certified as a Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, and holds EHRA certification in cardiac electrophysiology and HFA certification in heart failure.
Dr. Jayakeerthi is a member of the Cardiology Society of India, Indian Heart Rhythm Society, European Heart Failure Association and European Heart Rhythm Association. His research and publications include work on atrial fibrillation ablation, ventricular arrhythmias, perioperative cardiovascular risk, myocardial infarction complications and cardiac manifestations of lymphoma.
