About
During his training, Mr Matthews gained extensive experience at leading specialist centres including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and University College Hospital, working alongside internationally recognised experts in orthopaedics.
He went on to complete subspecialty fellowships in Sydney, Australia, with a focus on robotic hip and knee arthroplasty and sports knee surgery. He later undertook additional fellowship training at major trauma centres in London, including St Mary’s Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital, further strengthening his expertise in complex trauma and lower limb reconstruction.
Mr Matthews has a specialist interest in soft tissue knee surgery, including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, cartilage restoration procedures, and corrective osteotomy surgery. He also performs primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, including robotic-assisted joint replacement techniques such as MAKO.
