Dr Amy Cohn is an ophthalmologist who specialises in retinal diseases, general ophthalmology, and cataract surgery. Her specialist areas are diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, inherited eye disease, and cataracts. She has expertise in the use of retinal lasers, in intravitreal injections, and in cataract surgery.

Dr Cohn graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000. Her subsequent residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital gave her experience in cardiology, intensive care medicine, and plastic surgery. Following this, she became a Master of Medicine after her research into inherited eye disease at the Centre of Eye Research. In 2005, Dr Cohn trained at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital where she later worked as a senior registrar whilst pursuing a fellowship in anterior segment and cataract surgery. Dr Cohn has also spent time pursuing a fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Dr Cohn is currently a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists and a visiting medical officer for Southern Health and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She also has a passion for research and has published a number of research papers during her time as senior research fellow at the Centre of Eye Research, Australia. Dr Cohn has an interest in teaching and is involved in training new ophthalmologists at Southern Health and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
In her time away from work, Dr Cohn enjoys swimming, yoga, and spending time with her partner and three children.
