Dr Amara Ezeonyeji
Rheumatology
About
Dr. Ezeonyeji graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002, having also obtained an intercalated honours degree in biomedical science during her medical studies. She went on to complete her specialist training in rheumatology and general internal medicine at University College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts. Following this she went on to obtain an MD research degree from the Centre for Rheumatology Research at University College London, investigating the role of inflammatory cytokines in psoriatic arthritis. Since completion of her MD she has continued to be active in research and clinical trials.
In addition to her busy NHS practice and research work, she is also regularly involved in clinical audit, working on quality improvement in her work and that of her department wherever possible. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and studying Spanish culture and language.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
