In the UAE, Dr Shaikh has worked at Zayed Military Hospital Abu Dhabi before joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi. His clinical interests focus on the management of diabetes mellitus (including gestational diabetes), thyroid disorders such as hypo- and hyperthyroidism and thyroid nodules, as well as thyroid malignancies.
He also manages a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), osteoporosis, calcium and vitamin D disorders, pituitary and adrenal diseases, and obesity-related metabolic disorders. His practice is centred on long-term chronic disease management with an emphasis on prevention, patient education, and improving metabolic health outcomes.
