Dr Sharfuddin Chowdhury is a highly qualified Consultant General and Trauma Surgeon dedicated to providing advanced surgical care. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2003 from Chittagong Medical College in Bangladesh. He later completed his specialist training in South Africa at the University of Cape Town, where he was awarded a Master of Medicine in Surgery (MMed) in 2014 and the Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa, FCS(SA). Furthering his academic pursuits, he obtained a PhD from Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 2022 and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Chowdhury is committed to advancing the field of trauma care through research and education. He has a strong interest in the development of effective trauma systems to improve patient outcomes. He is a member of several international surgical societies and has contributed extensively to medical literature with over 115 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
