He holds many leadership positions, including serving as the AO Spine MENA Educational officer and board member, a member of the AO Spine Education Commission, a chair of the e-learning committee at International Musculoskeletal Society (IMS), and a board member of the Pan Arab Spine Society (PASS). Dr. Abolfotouh is a sought-after speaker and trainer, flying all over the globe to lecture and train surgeons on the latest surgical spine techniques.

Dr. Abolfotouh covers the vast majority of Spine Surgery pathologies, with a particular specialization in minimally invasive spine surgery for spine deformity, including the latest lateral/oblique approaches. He also performs keyhole endoscopic surgeries.
