Dr Rime Al Hassan is a Specialist Gastroenterologist and Endoscopy Specialist based in Dubai at Medcare Women and Children Hospital and Novomed. She has over 25 years of experience in gastroenterology, hepatology and colorectal surgery. She completed her medical degree at Damascus University, Syria in 1990 followed by her residency in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the same university in 1994.
Over her 25 years of experience, Dr Al Hassan has worked in numerous medical centres and clinics in the United States, UAE and Syria. Before joining Medcare in 2018 she practiced at Mouassat Hospitals and the Italian Hospital for over 15 years. She later moved to the UAE and practiced at the Dr Asad Dajani Specialized Clinic before joining Medcare. She joined Novomed in June 2022.

Gastrointestinal, pancreatic and colon cancer

She has expertise in numerous surgical techniques to diagnose, treat and manage these conditions including upper and lower GI endoscopy, ultrasonography, liver biopsy, fine needle aspiration, sclerotherapy.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Al Hassan participates in training sessions and attends international conferences in order to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in her field. She is an active researcher and has contributed to research and studies in her field.
