Dr. Mustafa El Hakam is an experienced Interventional Gastroenterologist. He has extensively performed ERCPs with stones retrieval by balloon/basket, dilatation of stricture, plastic\metallic biliary stent; EGDs both diagnostic and therapeutic; esophageal and duodenal metallic stents, esophageal band ligation, ulcer hemostasis using clips, injection, bipolar coagulation and APC; colonoscopies both diagnostic and therapeutic (polypectomy, end loop, stricture dilation, APC coagulation); PEG placement using the transillumination-pull technique; BIB insertion and removal.
He has been associated with many known hospitals across UAE and Lebanon, as a consultant in interventional gastroenterology/hepatology and endoscopy. He also has teaching and training experience.
