Dr Taher qualified in 1991 with a Bachelor of General Medicine & Surgery (MBBS). In 2004, Dr Taher became a Fellow of the Arabic Board for Medical Specialisation, Ophthalmology. In 2005, Dr Taher became a Fellow of the Iraqi Board for Medical Specialization, Ophthalmology.
