Dr Suha Albeer is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience in the field. She is based in Abu Dhabi and currently sees patients at Ibn Nafees Medical Centre. She completed her MBChB at Baghdad University, Iraq in 1988 followed by her PhD and FICMS IN 1997. She began her career as an assistant professor and consultant in ophthalmology for 10 years before moving to Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital prior to her current role at Ibn Nafees Medical Centre , as a consultant ophthalmology .
She has a special interest in paediatric ophthalmology with a focus on strabismus surgery including primary and revision cases. She had developed extensive experience in adult ophthalmology practicing as a medical retina physician treating thousands of cases by intravitreal injections and laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy and other retinal problems.
She is a glaucoma expert using both surgical approaches and laser therapy. She also performs lid surgeries for children for congenital defects and blepharoplasty for adults with satisfying results.
Dr Albeer is committed to professional development and has undertaken numerous courses throughout her career in pursuit of new treatments in the field of ophthalmology. She has presented her work at several different conferences and scientific meetings.
