Dr Nick Richens is a Consultant General Paediatrician with subspecialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. He currently works as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Acute Paediatrics at the University of Oxford Medical School. He also practises at Nuffield Health Oxford, where he offers a broad range of paediatric services.

Dr Richens graduated in medicine from Christ Church, University of Oxford in 2011 and has since held posts at hospitals in Reading, Oxford, London, Worcester, Birmingham, and Brisbane. He completed national grid training in paediatric emergency medicine in Oxford, with additional experience in paediatric intensive care and anaesthesia, and undertook further training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

His clinical interests include paediatric neurology, sports injury, respiratory medicine, child health promotion, and child wellbeing. He is recognised for his expertise in paediatric vascular access and provides point-of-care ultrasound assessment as part of his practice. Dr Richens also co-founded and lectures on the British Paediatric Neurology Association’s Acute Neurology Course.

Dr Richens holds an MSc in Medical Education from Wolfson College, University of Oxford, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) as well as a Member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM). He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Association of Paediatric Emergency Medicine and the Paediatric Emergency Research UK Initiative.
