About
She has developed and led the Paediatric Allergy Service at the Whittington Hospital in North London since 2006, which sees over 1000 patients per year for acute and chronic allergy cases.
Dr Patel earned her Bachelor's degree in medicine at the University of Manchester, after which she undertook her postgraduate training in various renowned London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, St George's Hospital and University College London Hospitals. During this time spent training, Dr Patel gained knowledge and expertise in general paediatrics and subspecialties including allergy, respiratory, nephrology and neonates. Upon completion of her training in London, Dr Patel was awarded a Renal/Endocrine and Adolescent Medicine fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. She completed a Master's degree in Allergy at Imperial College London in 2012.
Upon her return to the UK, Dr Patel took up a Consultant post at the Whittington Hospital, where she has since held the posts of Clinical Lead for hospital paediatrics and Clinical Director of Children and Young People Division. Dr Patel is also actively involved in the medical education sector, and regularly provides talks and training programmes for General Practitioners, junior doctors and health professionals around managing paediatric allergy and common paediatric conditions.
