About Dr Michelle Carr

Dr Michelle Carr is a Consultant Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital and she also sees patients privately, including at the Harley Street Clinic. She specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care of a full range of heart disease affecting babies still in the womb to young adults - including holes in the heart such as ASD's and VSD's, child chest pain, valve problems and all complex forms of structural heart diseas). Dr Carr also has a special interest in echocardiography, including fetal echocardiography. She undertook cardiology training in the USA, completing a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology at the Children's Hospital Boston from 2008-11 and a further year of subspecialty paediatric cardiac imaging, including fetal echocardiography, at the Children's Hospital, Colorado. Dr Carr then returned to take up a post at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in 2012 and in terms of child heart surgery, the department is the largest in the UK.
