About

Mr Sam MacKeith is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with a broad practice covering general adult and paediatric ENT conditions, alongside a specialist interest in disorders of the ear. His expertise includes the management of hearing loss, ear infections, vertigo, dizziness, tinnitus, and other complex otological problems.

He is based at Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital, Oxford, and has been a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital since 2015, where his subspecialty focus is skull base surgery and neurotology. Within the NHS, he plays a central role as a core member of the Oxford Auditory Implant, Skull Base, and Neurofibromatosis Type 2 multidisciplinary teams.

Mr MacKeith graduated from Bristol Medical School in 2002 and went on to complete his postgraduate surgical training in the South West of England and the Oxford deanery. He undertook three years of subspecialty fellowship training: first as the Oxford Regional Otology Fellow, then abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, gaining advanced experience in neurotology, and later as a Neurotology Skull Base Fellow at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where he also completed an MPhil. He further broadened his expertise through an observership at the world-renowned House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles.

Known for his compassionate and personalised approach, Mr MacKeith combines specialist expertise with a patient-centred philosophy, ensuring the best possible outcomes for both adults and children with ENT concerns.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Mr Sam MacKeith
