Mr David Ilsley is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon with over 10 years of experience as a consultant. He is based at Spire Elland Hospital, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
He has expertise in the management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), as well as anal conditions such as haemorrhoids. He specialises in the diagnosis and management of bowel conditions, including bowel cancer, diverticular disease, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease. Mr Ilsley is on the Spire Elland Medical Advisory Committee. He is also on the teaching faculty for colonoscopy at the East Yorkshire School of Endoscopy.
For every patient with bowel cancer that he operates on, he submits data to the National Bowel Cancer Audit, working to look at current practice and any areas for improvement in the future.
