Mr Yewlett is an experienced orthopaedic surgical consultant who currently works at the MSK doctors across Lincoln, Nottingham and The Regenerative Clinic in London. He is a recognised legal expert. He specialises in the shoulder as well as elbow surgery in addition to being a high volume arthroplasty surgeon. He graduated from Imperial College London with a first-class degree and continued his higher surgical training on the welsh rotation. He has also earned a higher degree in trauma surgery which won him an award for outstanding performance after completing a dissertation on complex elbow fractures. He has attended various nation and international specialist training in shoulder and elbow surgery.
In 2015, Mr Alun was awarded the national BESS Leadership fellowship award. He also co-authored the national BESS / BOA guidelines on ACJ pathology that were published in 2018. Mr Alun offers a one-stop ultrasound shoulder service. He believes that any clinical decisions are pegged upon good quality research. As such he collects his patients' PROMS data auditing it regularly against the national standards. Published evidence informs his basis in the decision-making process, and the results of the surgical solution when there exists no other better non-surgical alternative. He is also an expert on the latest Mi-Eye needle arthroscopy technique for shoulder and elbow with the largest case series of its clinical use in the UK.
