He further developed his skills abroad by completing orthopaedic training at Harvard University, during a senior joint replacement fellowship.

Mr Carrington is an active member of the research community, publishing regularly in numerous peer-review journals. He is also a member of the prestigious Revision Knee Working Group, which was established to improve patient outcomes following revision knee surgery in the UK. He is seen as an expert within his field and is regularly invited to speak on his areas of expertise both at orthopaedic meetings around the globe. Additionally, the Daily Mail recognised him as one of the top knee replacement surgeons in the country in The Good Doctors Guide.
