Mr. Alistair Myers is a busy NHS consultant colorectal surgeon with particular expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for colon and rectal cancer, surgery for internal and external rectal prolapse, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease, and hernia surgery. In addition, he also undertakes colonoscopy and treats anorectal problems such as haemorrhoids (using suture haemorrhoidopexy procedures to avoid painful excisional surgery), fistula-in-ano, pilonidal disease and fissures. 

Mr. Myers trained in the UK and Australia before completing a pelvic floor fellowship in Oxford. He is currently Consultant at The Hillingdon Hospitals, a post he has held since 2011.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Myers is active in the field of teaching, as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London, as well as being involved in numerous other training and management roles.

Most of his time is spent in the NHS, with patients undergoing complex major surgery. His private practice is small, and encompasses day case hernia surgery and proctology, such as haemorrhoids and anal fissures. He can arrange for colonoscopy to be performed if required by trusted colleagues, but this is not available at Bishops Wood Hospital.
