She has also undergone specialised training through courses such as the Frenchay Breast Ultrasound Course in 2007 and the Frenchay Mammotome Course in 2008. Fiona has also been awarded the Estelle Wolfson Emerging Leaders Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017. 

Fiona has a strong interest in training future generations of doctors and is currently the Undergraduate Dean at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the newly inaugurated Three Counties Medical School based in Worcester.

Recognised as an authority in her field, Fiona has served as a breast expert on Channel 4’s "Embarrassing Bodies" and has been quoted on breast-related topics in both national and local newspapers. Her contributions extend to the medical community, where she was approached by the Department of Health to edit the NHS Choices breast implant patient information webpage.

Fiona is at the forefront of innovative techniques in cosmetic breast surgery and was among the first surgeons in the UK to train in and offer the cosmetic breast lift technique using BREFORM™ in 2010. She is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Association of Breast Surgeons, the British Association of Surgical Oncologists, the Royal College of Surgeons, and the British Medical Association.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Fiona has a strong research background, with previous contributions in liver surgery for cancer and numerous publications focused on enhancing the experience for breast cancer patients undergoing breast reconstruction.
