Alongside this, she has contributed to research on pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal patient-reported outcomes. Her current projects include research into reducing inequalities in healthcare delivery. To date, she has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and over 10 book chapters, and she regularly lectures on national and international platforms.

Clinically, Ms Ferrari provides a wide range of treatments. These include surgery for inflammatory bowel disease such as Kono-S anastomosis, surgical management of perianal fistula including laser and VAAFT techniques, and procedures for haemorrhoids, pilonidal sinus, and anal fissures, including Botox injection to the anal canal. She also treats anal incontinence with options such as sacral neuromodulator implantation and anal sphincter reconstruction. In addition, she carries out rectal prolapse repair and symptomatic rectocoele repair.
