About Ms Eleftheria Kleidi
Ms Eleftheria Kleidi is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon based at the Cambridge Breast Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the breast surgery service. She also holds practising privileges at Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital, offering continuity of care across both NHS and private sectors. She manages the full range of benign and malignant breast conditions with a strong focus on combining oncological safety and aesthetic excellence. Her surgical expertise includes breast-conserving procedures, mastectomy, axillary surgery, and advanced oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques. Her particular interests are in therapeutic mammoplasty, implant- and flap-based reconstruction, breast symmetrisation, and lipomodelling (fat transfer), always aiming for high-quality, patient-centred outcomes. Ms Kleidi holds a PhD in General Surgery and a Postgraduate Diploma in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia, where she is also a tutor on the Master’s Programme in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. She is a Fellow of the European Board of Breast Surgery and a member of the Association of Breast Surgery (UK). In her role as Breast Surgery Lead at Addenbrooke’s, she is leading multiple quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience, streamline care pathways, and uphold the highest surgical standards. Academically, she has a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and contributes to national and international clinical studies. She has a particular interest in the de-escalation of breast cancer treatment, focusing on maintaining oncological safety while reducing treatment-related morbidity. Fluent in English, Greek and Spanish, Ms Kleidi is also committed to medical education and regularly contributes to national discussions and academic work shaping the future of breast surgery.
