Dr Natalie Direkze is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician. She qualified with a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. During this time she realised her interests lay in the medical field and applied for a place to study medicine at St Mary's. Training posts in London followed and a PhD at Cancer Research UK concentrating on stem cell biology and pancreatic cancer.
Dr Direkze is experienced in the assessment, diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancer and the management of IBS. She is an experienced endoscopist and performs gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. Direkzeis a National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme accredited colonoscopist and is looking forward to developing her roles in research and teaching at St Mary's.
Her special interests include Luminal gastroenterology, Inflammatory bowel disease and Upper gastrointestinal disorders.
