About
Currently, Dr. Thangarajah is an NHS consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, having previously held a position at King’s College Hospital. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she is GMC-accredited in pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition, and hepatology, and is recognised as a JAG-accredited pediatric endoscopist and trainer. She plays a leadership role in her speciality at a national level, holding the chair position for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the British Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, and for Adolescents and Young Persons at the British Society of Gastroenterology.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Thangarajah has key roles as an educator. She supervises MSc and BSc students and delivers MSc modules for Imperial College. She is also actively involved in bedside teaching and lectures for medical students. Dr Thangarajah has presented numerous lectures on common topics in her field to primary care providers, paediatricians, and medical students, as well as informative talks for school-aged children.
She lives in West London with her husband and three children. She is an enthusiastic cook and a Peloton enthusiast, always making time for nutritious meals and regular physical exercise. In 2015, she established the Kids London Gastroenterology Centre, specialising in children’s digestive health and nutrition, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care through a holistic approach. This private practice is primarily located at the Portland Hospital in London.
