About Dr Bita Manzouri
Dr. Bita Manzouri is a consultant corneal and cataract surgeon with a wealth of experience in ophthalmology. Serving as the immediate past lead for the Eye Casualty at Queen’s Hospital in Romford since 2014, Dr. Manzouri is recognised for her expertise in a wide range of eye conditions and treatments. After graduating with first-class honours in molecular biology and biochemistry from University College London, Dr. Manzouri pursued her medical degree, achieving distinction. She completed her general medical training to obtain MRCP before specialising in ophthalmology. Her ophthalmic training took place at The Western Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where she also conducted research leading to a PhD degree at the Institute of Ophthalmology. Dr. Manzouri holds dual fellowship training in cornea/external disease and paediatric ophthalmology. She is actively involved in medical education as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Barts & the London Medical School, where she teaches medical students and students in various medical specialties. Additionally, she serves as a reviewer for several ophthalmic journals and has authored numerous publications and presentations at national and international meetings. Recognised for her commitment to excellence, Dr. Manzouri holds postgraduate certifications in refractive surgery, cataract and refractive surgery, and healthcare management and leadership. She specialises in various aspects of cataract surgery, including astigmatism management and multifocal lens insertion, as well as the treatment of conditions affecting the ocular surface such as dry eyes, blepharitis, and keratoconus. Dr. Manzouri is a member of prestigious organisations including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal College of Physicians, and the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS), among others.
