About Dr Andres Rico Armada
Dr. Rico-Armada graduated in medicine from the University Autonoma of Barcelona, Spain, in 2009, before completing his Paediatrics training at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in 2014. He specialised in Paediatric Cardiology at the UK’s only two dedicated centres for paediatric heart failure and transplantation: the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London. His subspecialist training focused on cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and transplantation. After serving as a Heart failure and Transplant consultant at Great Ormond Street, Dr. Rico-Armada joined the Royal Brompton Hospital, where he has played a pivotal role in expanding the cardiomyopathy & heart failure service post-merger with Evelina Children’s Hospital. The Royal Brompton is now recognised as the primary paediatric cardiomyopathy and heart failure service within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). His main interests are paediatric cardiomyopathy, heart failure and sports cardiology.
