About Dr Alan Glendinning
Dr Alan Glendinning is a Skin Lesion Specialist GP who joined Dr Finbar’s Skin Clinic, bringing with him extensive experience in dermatology, skin cancer detection, and patient-centred care. At the clinic, he offers expert assessment and treatment for cysts, sun damage, skin cancer concerns, and routine skin checks, using both dermoscopy and full-body photography. Dr Glendinning graduated in Medicine from Queen’s University Belfast in 2007 and completed his early training at Craigavon and Belfast hospitals. He qualified as a GP in 2012 and became a GP Partner in County Armagh the following year, where he continues to practice as a dedicated NHS GP. Alongside his clinical work, he is deeply involved in medical education, completing a Master’s in Clinical Education in 2021. He now serves as a GP Trainer, medical student tutor, and GP Appraiser, while also working in out-of-hours urgent care. With more than a decade of experience in dermoscopic assessment since training at Cardiff University, Dr Glendinning combines his dermatology expertise with his broad generalist background to provide thorough, evidence-based care. Outside of medicine, he is a busy father who enjoys time with his family, weekends on the north coast, and keeping active through CrossFit.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
