Following this, he undertook 4 years of fellowship training in bariatric, upper gastrointestinal, and advanced biliary surgery at a number of Melbourne hospitals.
He has also trained with the Australian New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA) in gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Additionally, he is a reviewer for the Obesity Surgery Journal.
