Dr. Laura Hughes is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon based in Edinburgh. She provides reconstructive eyelid surgery and lesion removal, tailoring treatments to each patient to optimise both functional and aesthetic outcomes.
Dr. Hughes completed dedicated Oculoplastics training in Edinburgh and undertook internationally recognised fellowships at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a full member of both the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and the Scottish Oculoplastic Group.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Hughes has served as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and has represented Ophthalmology Training for the Royal College of Surgeons.
Her clinical focus includes eyelid surgery and lesion removal, with a strong emphasis on meticulous technique and patient-centred care. Outside of work, she enjoys tennis, strength training, hiking with her dog, and baking.
