Psychology
About
Dr Ormrod takes an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring treatments to each client’s unique needs. She employs evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and coaching for short-term stabilisation, while also exploring deeper psychological patterns through medium- and long-term psychotherapy. Her expertise includes working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents.
Her Doctoral research focused on Emotional Narrative Processing, investigating how understanding and articulating emotions can aid in psychological well-being. Alongside her clinical work, she has contributed to research on Major Depressive Disorder at Newcastle University and supported mental health charities like Mind. She is passionate about increasing public understanding of psychological health. Dr Ormrod also facilitates community projects in this field.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
