Mr Hassan Elhassan is a leading Sinus Surgery and Nose specialist in London. He has developed specialist surgical skills and techniques in endoscopic sinus surgery by training and visiting the best centres of sinus surgery excellence in the world. He is one the few surgeons offering revision sinus and septoplasty surgery and septal perforation closure having gained specialist training in Varese, Sydney and Zurich. He is also able to treat most general Ear, Nose and Throat surgery conditions for both adults and children.

Mr Elhassan prides himself on his surgical outcomes and post operative results. He offers second opinions and revision surgery;  30-40% of his patients are referrals from other ENT colleagues. His focus is on obtaining the best surgical results for patients. The majority of his Doctify reviews are from successful post operative patients.

Mr Elhassan is a Londoner and gained his primary qualification in Medicine from Barts and The London, University of London in 2005 and attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2015. In 2016, he gained the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training – Otorhinolaryngology from the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom.

Mr Elhassan was appointed as Consultant Surgeon in 2018. He has private practice privileges in London Bridge Hospital and London Independent Hospital. His NHS practice is based in Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust.

He is currently Deputy Clinical Director for ENT in the London region. He has contributed to the design of the High Volume Low Capacity ENT pathways as part of the Elective Recovery Program. Part of his remit involved co-ordinating pathways in North East London, to offer patients elective surgery in the neighbouring hospitals to help reduce the COVID backlog.

Mr Elhassan has an interest in bench to bedside research and has a BSc in experimental pathology and supervises medical students and junior doctors. He is a proponent of surgical innovation and technology as well as Evidence Based Medicine and has published in leading journals on these topics. He has presented nationally and internationally and received multiple post graduate prizes.

He is a keen clinical teacher and has chaired the Junior branch of the Association for the Study of Medical Education and was awarded University colours for his work on the undergraduate curriculum. He has organised a national conference on medical education and has convened the first cadaveric sinus surgery dissection course in Wales.
