Im Zuge dessen arbeitet er, wenn möglich, mit neusten laparoskopischen Operationsmethoden, wobei nur sehr kleine (5-15 mm) Schnitte gesetzt werden, um mittels Kamera ein Bild des chirurgischen Eingriffs auf einen Monitor zu übertragen. Dadurch gewährt Priv. Doz. Dr. Sporn eine raschere und weniger schmerzhafte Genesung.
Medizinischer Werdegang:
Dr. Emanuel Sporn absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der Universität Wien von 1991 bis 1997. Direkt nach seinem Abschluss begann im Dezember 1997 seine Facharztausbildung zur Allgemeinchirurgie, Viszeralchirurgie und Gefäßchirurgie im AKH Wien. Im Zuge dessen war Dr. Sporn als Transplantationskoordinator an der Abteilung für Transplantationen an der Universitätsklinik für Chirurgie tätig. Weitere Erfahrungen konnte er im Jahr 2005 im Gebiet der Bauchchirurgie und Schilddrüsenchirurgie im Krankenhaus Rudolfsstiftung sammeln. Noch im selben Jahr absolvierte Dr. Sporn erfolgreich die Facharztprüfung für Chirurgie gefolgt von den Zusatzfächern Viszeralchirurgie und Gefäßchirurgie.
Um seine chirurgischen Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten weiterzuentwickeln befand sich Dr. Sporn von März 2007 bis August 2008 auf einem Forschungsaufenthalt an der University of Missouri – Columbia, wo er minimal invasive Chirurgie und endoskopischen Chirurgie durchführte und neue Operationstechniken entwickelte. (NOTES – Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery)
Einige Monate nach seiner Rückkehr an die Universitätsklinik in Wien erfolgte im Alter von 35 Jahren die Habilitation und die Lehrbefugnis (Venia docendi). Schließlich wurde Dr. Sporn im Jahr 2010 zum Oberarzt der Chirurgie an der Universitätsklinik ernannt. Nur zwei Jahre später gelang ihm im April 2012 die Ernennung zum Associate Professor.
Nach seinen langjährigen Tätigkeiten als Oberarzt verließ er die Universitätsklinik im Jahr 2018, um ausschließlich seinen Privatpatienten zu behandeln. Dadurch ist Priv.Doz. Dr. Sporn in der Position seinen Patienten vom Erstgespräch bis hin zur Nachsorge genügend Zeit zu widmen.
Darüber hinaus ist Priv.Doz. Dr. Sporn Autor zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher Originalarbeiten und Vortragender bei nationalen und internationalen Kongressen.
