He has published more than 80 articles in the field of ophthalmology and received the International Academy for Advances in Ophthalmology Gold Medal for Distinguished Services to Ophthalmology in 2010.
He is a member of several professional organisations, including the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the British Society for Refractive Surgery, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Academy of Experts, the International Intraocular Implant Society, and the Institute of Directors.
