About Mr Simon Watts
I was born in Sheffield, UK, but spent my formative years in Zambia and, latterly, South Africa where I undertook my secondary and tertiary education. Having graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) in 1989 I spent 4 years as a post graduate doctor working in surgical specialties and on a 'flight for life' service in South Africa before returning to the UK in 1994. Once in the UK I was a junior doctor in the midlands for 2 years before specialising as an ENT surgeon for 7 years on the north east rotation. During this time I was awarded the Joseph Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship, subsequently spending time in centres of facial plastic surgery excellence around Europe after which I also sat and passed the American Facial Plastic Surgery Board exams. I have been a consultant in Brighton since October 2003 and have developed a super specialist practice in rhinology and facial plastic / reconstructive surgery. Allied to this I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, I sit on the board of Facial Plastic Surgery UK plus I lecture both nationally and internationally on advanced rhinology and facial plastic surgery.
