About Mr Peter Domos
Mr Peter Domos is a double-fellowship trained (United Kingdom and France) Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interest in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in London, United Kingdom. He is the clinical lead for the Virtual Fracture Clinic (VFC) and the Shoulder and Elbow unit at Barnet Hospital, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He provides general trauma and full comprehensive shoulder and elbow services for degenerative disorders, sport injuries and complex trauma. His specialist interests are in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, open joint reconstruction and joint replacement. Mr Domos also works within a group structure at Total Orthopaedics and Fortius Clinic London, that exists to provide a multi-specialty service, with the benefits of collaborative and innovative working. In recognition of his clinical and research contributions he was elected several times as Committee member of the prestigious European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC/ESSSE), alongside world-renowned surgeons. He is an active British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS), European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC/ESSSE) and American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) member. He was awarded winner of the BESS Travelling Fellowship 2014, as well as the Paul Calvert Research Paper Prize, the best BESS Poster Prize in 2022 and the best EFORT Poster Prize in 2023. He also won the ISAKOS Upper Limb Travelling Fellowship 2016 and several other international and national awards. In addition to his year-long fellowship in France, he has also visited many other leading shoulder and elbow surgeons in Europe (18 surgeons across 6 countries) to gain further experience and build an international network and friendship. Mr Domos is one of the course convenors of the ORUK London Upper Limb FRCS (Orth) course and was recently awarded three time as Trainer of the Year of the prestigious Middlesex and UCLH Orthopaedic Deanery and Society in 2021 then of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore Training Rotation and Seddon Society in 2022 and finally of the Royal London Hospital Orthopaedic and Trauma Society in 2024. He is also a member of the UK Watanabe Club, which is a group of shoulder surgeons with a unified interest in sharing experiences and techniques with the next generation. He is consistently involved in research (which has led to an MD degree), with several publications in peer-review journals, book chapters and annual presentations at various scientific meetings. To maintain his professional development, he regularly attends and teaches (as a faculty member) at national and international courses, to keep his knowledge and skills up-to-date. He loves spending time with his young family. He also enjoys travelling and he is passionate about motorsports, especially car racing and Formula 1. Mr Domos has a wide range of expertise including: • Elbow Replacement • Shoulder Replacement • Arthroscopy • Multi ligament Reconstruction • Tendon Repair • Rotator Cuff Repair • Shoulder Stabilisation • Joint Injection • Revision Surgery • Shoulder Arthroscopy SHOULDER: • Elective shoulder arthroplasty/replacement (resurfacing, hemiarthroplasty, anatomic or reverse total arthroplasty +/-tendon transfer) • Open/arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder stabilisation (labral repair, Latarjet or bone block procedure) • Open/arthroscopic (keyhole) cuff repair +/-patch augmentation or bridging, superior capsular reconstruction for massive tears • Shoulder arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures (decompression, AC-joint resection, debridement, biceps tenotomy or tenodesis, removal of calcific deposit) • Open/arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder capsular release • Shoulder MUA or EUA ELBOW: • Elbow osteocapsular release, debridement and OK procedure • Elbow MUA or EUA • Tennis or Golfers elbow release • Ulna nerve release or PIN nerve release TRAUMA: • Fracture or non-union fixations (clavicle, shoulder, humerus, elbow, forearm) • Elbow stabilisation with ligament repair or reconstruction +/-radial head arthroplasty/replacement • AC-Joint stabilisation with repair or reconstruction • Shoulder fracture arthroplasty/replacement (Hemiarthroplasty or Reverse Arthroplasty) • Pectoralis major tendon rupture repair or reconstruction • Distal or proximal biceps tendon rupture repair or reconstruction • Triceps tendon rupture repair or reconstruction • Arthritis (Elbow) • Elbow Stiffness • Rotator Cuff Injury • Shoulder Pain • Dislocation of the Elbow • Sports Injuries • Arthritis (Shoulder) • Shoulder Tendinopathy (Pitcher's Shoulder) • Elbow Fractures • Dislocated Shoulder • Elbow Instability • Golfer's Elbow (Medial epicondylitis) • Shoulder Labral Tear • Tennis Elbow (Lateral epicondylitis)
