About Mr Michael Goldring
Mr. Michael Goldring is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Leicester and London, specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery with vast expertise in complex trauma and arthroscopic procedures. A dual fellowship-trained upper limb specialist, Mr. Goldring provides advanced surgical care for a wide range of shoulder and elbow conditions including; rotator cuff tears, arthritis, instability, fractures, and sports-related injuries. After completing his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Percivall Pott rotation in London, he pursued two highly competitive fellowships in upper limb surgery, refining his skills in both keyhole (arthroscopic) and open reconstructive techniques. He now holds a consultant position at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust — one of the UK’s busiest and most diverse trauma centres — where he treats adult patients across the spectrum, from young athletes to older adults with degenerative conditions. Mr. Goldring is recognised for his particular interest in complex elbow surgery and revision shoulder and elbow replacements. This approach, combines cutting-edge surgical techniques with a deep commitment tailored, patient-first care approach. He works closely with each patient to explain all available treatment options and supports shared decision-making to ensure the best outcomes. Outside of clinical practice, Mr. Goldring is actively involved in teaching and medical education. He leads national training courses, regularly lectures at conferences, and is on the teaching faculty for organisations including the Royal College of Surgeons. He also holds a Master’s degree in Trauma Science from Queen Mary University of London and contributes to the scientific community by reviewing academic papers for top-tier journals. Having previously competed in football and tennis at both national and international levels, Mr. Goldring brings unique insight into sports injuries and athlete rehabilitation. He continues to treat recreational and elite sportspeople with a holistic, performance-driven approach.
