About
Dr. Kyle Kowalewski is your General, Breast, Skin Cancer & Laparoscopic Surgeon treating Greater Brisbane & South-East Queensland patients.
Dr Kyle Kowalewski is a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with subspecialty training in Breast Surgery (including the management of Benign and Malignant Breast Disease) and Skin Cancer Surgery. Dr Kyle is based in Brisbane, Australia and operates from three North Side locations.
After an undergraduate honours Biology degree in Canada, Dr Kyle attended the University of Sydney School of Medicine prior to completing his internship in Sydney. He then moved to Queensland for the duration of his time as a junior and senior medical officer.
In 2014 Dr Kyle became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) after completing his specialist training in General Surgery in collaboration with General Surgeons Australia (GSA).
During his years as a registrar, Dr Kyle developed a keen interest in the management of breast cancer which led him to seek subspecialist training through BreastSurgANZ in Christchurch, New Zealand for one year followed by a second year at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. It was during this year in Melbourne as the Surgical Oncology Fellow that Dr Kyle's subspecialist training expanded to include the Surgery of Skin Cancer.
When Compassion and Experience Matter.
Dr Kyle always endeavours to provide patient-centred care of the highest standard. One of the ways he does this is by offering two in-patient operating locations. Dr. Kyle holds admitting rights as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Peninsula Private Hospital & Caboolture Private Hospital.
Dr Kyle regularly visits regional areas of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria as a locum consultant in General, Laparoscopic and Breast Surgery where he maintains his advanced training in the management of elective and emergency general surgical conditions.
Dr Kyle consults from Capestone Village Family Practice in Mango Hill & performs Minor Operations at this same location. Dr Kyle is passionate about allowing all patients of Greater Brisbane & South-East Queensland access to Specialist Quality Care. Billing is through Medicare with a patient gap fee, so patients can benefit from private surgical care without private health insurance. Often, patients who see Dr Kyle will have their specialist consultation followed by their minor surgical procedure on the same day. There is no need for long waiting-lists & your patient is able to access Specialist quality care.
When you choose Dr Kyle as your treating surgeon, you can expect a compassionate & personalised approach to your care planning, treatment and follow-up support regardless if you have Private Health Insurance.
