About Dr Prashanth Patel
Dr Prashanth Patel is a Consultant Metabolic Physician and Chemical Pathologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL), with clinical expertise in metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, vitamin D and parathyroid disorders, as well as cholesterol and lipid management. He serves as Head of Service for the Department of Chemical Pathology and Metabolic Medicine at UHL, Chair of the Leicester Osteoporosis Group, and Clinical Lead for Metabolic Bone Disease. In addition to his NHS roles, Dr Patel is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular Science and a Clinical Teacher in Metabolic Medicine and Chemical Pathology at the University of Leicester. His research interests focus on metabolic bone disorders, cholesterol, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease prevention. He has published widely in these areas and regularly presents at national and international conferences.
