He trained in cardiology in London and went on to complete advanced fellowships in inherited cardiac conditions, heart failure, cardiac MRI, and transplant cardiology at prestigious institutions including The Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital, and King’s College Hospital. He was awarded a PhD from the National Heart & Lung Institute of Imperial College, with this work yielding multiple high-impact publications and Young Investigator Award nominations.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hammersley is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, where he undertakes research into cardiomyopathies, cardiovascular genetics and advanced imaging. He has co-authored >50 peer-reviewed publications. Dr Hammersley has a strong commitment to medical education and regularly lectures medical students at King’s College London, where he also leads an undergraduate module on ‘Preventative Medicine’.
