About
Mr. George holds a membership in the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He is recognised as one of the foremost surgical trainers in the United Kingdom, imparting his knowledge and skills to the next generation of surgeons.
He fronts the trauma service in the Birmingham Hand Centre, whereby he manages and reconstructs complex upper limb trauma, bone, soft tissue and nerve injuries of the upper limb including microsurgical free flap reconstruction and nerve injuries to the upper and lower limbs. He also performs elective plastic, hand, and nerve surgery regularly.
He is currently the director of the world-renowned Hand and Nerve fellowship programme in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the lead trainer for the Nationally appointed Advanced Training Post in hand surgery in the West Midlands.
Mr. George specialises in the removal of various skin lesions, including moles, cysts, lipomas, and keloids. Additionally, he possesses expertise in the intricate field of earlobe reconstruction, offering patients solutions for both aesthetic and functional concerns.
Mr. George has also obtained a Masters in Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh. Furthermore, he completed a prestigious one-year peripheral nerve fellowship in Birmingham, further honing his surgical proficiency. Currently serving as a Consultant in the Birmingham Hand Centre, Mr. George's practice encompasses plastic, hand, reconstructive, and peripheral nerve surgery.
His commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident through active involvement in clinical research. Mr. George holds the role of principal investigator in an upcoming trial focused on supercharged nerve transfers, a cutting-edge area of investigation. His contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice, as he has authored three books and has over 35 peer reviewed publications in esteemed medical journals. Additionally, Mr. George is a sought-after speaker, having delivered over 50 presentations at both national and international forums.
Dedicated to education, Mr. George imparts works as a lecturer on MSc programs at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Birmingham and frequently lectures in the medical school.
