About Dr Dr Robert Gandy
Dr. Robert Gandy is an accomplished upper gastro-intestinal and hepatobiliary surgeon known for his expertise in minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He serves as a senior consultant at the Prince of Wales Public and Private Hospitals and is a clinical lecturer at the University of New South Wales. In addition, he has worked as a visiting surgeon at the Orange Base Hospital for the past 8 years. Dr. Gandy is recognized for his high surgical volume in hernia repair, reflux, gallbladder, and weight loss surgeries. His specialization includes the treatment of pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancer. He offers comprehensive outpatient surgical consultations at the Eastern Suburbs Surgical Specialist clinic in Randwick, the Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and provides specialist metabolic and weight loss surgical consultations at the BodyFree clinic in Newtown and the Integrative Health Institute in Sydney CBD. Appointments at the Prince of Wales Public Outpatients Clinic are bulk-billed once per month. Dr. Gandy's background includes a medical degree from the University of Leeds in 2002 and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005. He furthered his qualifications with a master's degree in surgery from the University of Sydney in 2010, where he contributed to pancreatic cancer research at the Kolling Institute. He achieved fellowship status with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015 and became a member of the Australian and New Zealand Associations of HPB and Upper Gi Surgery in 2017. Since 2017, he has been dedicated to providing hospital services in the public and private healthcare system, along with teaching and research at the University of NSW.
