About Dr Rebecca Dobson
Dr Rebecca Dobson, Consultant Cardiologist at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital and The Christie Clinic in Manchester, specialises in cardio-oncology, focusing on the cardiovascular care of cancer patients. She graduated from the University of Leicester in 2005 and following her foundation medical training, she went on to complete her postgraduate and specialist cardiology training in the Mersey Deanery, obtaining MRCP(UK) in 2008. In 2017, Dr Dobson earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Liverpool, where her research centred on carcinoid heart disease. Since 2019, Dr Dobson has worked as a consultant at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, leading the recently ICOS gold-accredited Cheshire and Merseyside Cardio-Oncology Service. As the Clinical Lead for Cancer at her Trust, Dr Dobson is dedicated to improving cardiovascular outcomes for cancer patients. She assesses patients at the point of cancer diagnosis to evaluate and optimise their heart health, screens for early cardiotoxicity, and provides long-term cardiovascular care for cancer survivors. Dr Dobson is active in research and has published extensively in the field of cardio-oncology, co-authoring the British Cardio-Oncology Society/British Society of Echocardiography Cardio-Oncology Guidelines.
