Informazioni
Dr Rajan Rehan is a highly regarded Sydney-based interventional cardiologist with advanced expertise in complex coronary intervention and structural heart disease. He is recognised for his meticulous procedural technique, academic leadership, and commitment to delivering personalised, evidence-based cardiovascular care.
Chest pain and angina, including ANOCA and coronary microvascular dysfunction
Complex and high-risk coronary artery disease
Recurrent or persistent symptoms after stenting
Valvular heart disease, including aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation and tricuspid valve disease
Patients seeking second opinions for coronary or valve interventions
He performs advanced complex coronary interventions using state-of-the-art intracoronary imaging (IVUS and OCT) and coronary physiology to ensure precise stent optimisation and procedural safety. His practice emphasises thoughtful decision-making, technical excellence, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
In structural heart disease, Dr Rehan specialises in minimally invasive transcatheter therapies including:
TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation)
TEER (Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Repair)
LAAO (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion)
PFO closure
These advanced procedures provide effective treatment alternatives to open-heart surgery in suitable patients and form a core part of modern heart team care.
Dr Rehan completed his medical degree at Bond University and a Master of Public Health at the University of New South Wales. He was awarded competitive NHMRC funding to undertake a PhD at the University of Sydney, where his research focused on improving the diagnosis and management of angina and coronary microvascular disease.
He completed specialist cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, followed by advanced coronary intervention fellowships at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals. He subsequently undertook prestigious subspecialty fellowships in complex coronary intervention and structural heart disease at the internationally recognised Royal Brompton and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London.
Dr Rehan has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and is an invited faculty at major national and international cardiology meetings. As a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, he remains actively involved in training the next generation of cardiologists and advancing translational cardiovascular research.
