About Dr Prayman Sattianayagam
Dr Sattianayagam graduated from Cambridge University. His specialist gastroenterology training took place in hospitals across London, Surrey, and Sussex. In addition to a pharmacology degree from Cambridge University, Dr Sattianayagam also holds a doctorate research degree from University College London, which was awarded in 2012 after completing a clinical research fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital, London. This research resulted in presentations at several international meetings and multiple publications in numerous highly regarded medical journals. Dr Sattianayagam sees patients with a variety of conditions, including luminal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease. He has developed subspecialty interests in endoscopy and hepatology. Dr Sattianayagam was awarded a British Society of Gastroeneterology travelling endoscopy fellowship to the Medical University of South Carolina, USA. Following this, he completed a one year therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at St. Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During his time in Australia, Dr Sattianayagam learnt specialist endoscopic techniques including capsule endoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection of pre-cancerous lesions, radiofrequency ablation of Barrett's oesophagus and endoscopic ultrasound. Dr Sattianayagam has undertaken further training in liver disease, including at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne.
